Ordering
To use the Semesterticket, it must be ordered for each semester. There are no additional costs for this, as the Semesterticket is paid with the semester contribution. The student ID card is not valid as travel authorisation for the Semesterticket.
Ordering the DEUTSCHLAND-SEMEsterticket
How you switch to the Deutschland-Semesterticket
- You have peviously used the Semesterticket Schleswig-Holstein.
For the Deutschland-Semesterticket, a new order must be placed via the new order portal for the Deutschland-Semesterticket. An automatic renewal of your existing mobile ticket is not possible. Please order in time. An order can only be placed if the semester contribution has been paid in full and the payment has been processed by the university's system. After placing your order, check the ticket number in the order confirmation email:- Do you have the same ticket number as your current semester ticket? Your Deutschland-Semesterticket will then be automatically loaded into the NAH.SH app on the first day of the semester.
- If the order confirmation contains a different ticket number, the Deutschland-Semesterticket must be loaded new into the NAH.SH app In order to be able to use your previous mobile ticket until the end of its validity period, you should only load your new Semesterticket into the NAH.SH app at the start of the semester, because as soon as the new ticket is activated, the previous Semesterticket can no longer be used.
- You have previously used the optional Semesterticket-Upgrade to the Deutschlandticket.
Your contract for the Semesterticket-Upgrade will expire at the end of the summersemester 2024 automatically (depending on the semester period of the university on Aug 31st 2024 or Sept 30th 2024); you do not need to do anything else. In order to use the Deutschland-Semesterticket from the wintersemester 2024/2025, please order it via the new order portal for the Deutschland-Semesterticket. - You are a first-semester student.
You can request your Semesterticket quickly and easily via the new order portal for the Deutschland-Semesterticket. First-semester students from the following universities can only order on the first day of the semester, i.e. Sept 1st or Oct 1st.
General information about ordering
- The student ID card is not valid as a travel authorization. In order to use the semester ticket, it must be ordered.
- The Semesterticket is always valid for one semester.
- The semester ticket must be reordered each semester because the student status must be checked each semester.
- Order your semester ticket in good time so that you can travel from the start of the semester. No refunds are possible for tickets purchased otherwise. It is possible to order from 6 weeks before the start of the semester.
- An order can only be placed if the semester contribution has been paid in full and the payment has been processed by the university's system. Payment processing may take up to two weeks. Only then ordering is possible. If you receive an error message, please try again in a few days.
- By decision of the government, the Deutschlandticket –and thus also the Semesterticket– is a digital ticket that we provide as a practical mobile ticket for Android (version 8.0 or higher) and iOS (version 14.5 or higher): It can be loaded into the NAH.SH app directly after ordering and is usually available within 30 minutes. The ticket can be transferred to a new smartphone at any time. Users of Huawei devices can download the semester ticket via the DB Navigator (menu item „Travel“ and then select the plus symbol). We ask for your understanding that due to legal requirements, the Semesterticket cannot be issued as a paper ticket.
- First semester students or students who change universities and are at the new university for the first semester can only order from the first day of the semester (depending on the university Sept 1st/Oct 1st respectively Mar 1st/Apr 1st): CAU Kiel, FH Kiel, TH Lübeck, EUF Flensburg, HS Flensburg. The reason for this is that, for legal reasons, the university systems can not be unlocked before this date. If you are a first-semester student and receive an error message when ordering before the start of the semester, please try again from the first day of the semester.

Yes, the Semesterticket can be ordered until the end of the current semester.

The mobile ticket can be loaded into the NAH.SH app immediately after ordering and is usually available within 30 minutes. It is valid from the first day of the semester stated on it, not before.

The Semesterticket is a personal ticket that is only available to students at participating universities. Practical: The necessary authorisation check is carried out automatically in the background using your university's single sign-on procedure (so called Shibboleth): At the start of the order process, you log in to Shibboleth using your university's access data (matriculation number/e-mail address and password). If the login is done, authentication has been successfully completed and you can place the order. For universities without the Shibboleth procedure, please also enter your surname.
The authentication process also checks whether the semester fee has been paid in full. The semester ticket can only be ordered once the fee has been received. Please note that it can take up to two weeks for the transfer to be processed by the university systems. Only then is it possible to order. If you are still unable to place an order after the transfer, please try again in a few days.

Delete your browser data and restart the browser, please. Also, utility programs for the browser (add ons) can sometimes lead to this error; add-ons should therefore be disabled for the order. If this does not help, try using another browser or another device.

Possible error messages are:
„The entered identifier was not found.“
„The password you entered is not correct.“
„You are not authorised.“Here's what you can do:
- Please check your access data: Under „User ID“ (german: „Benutzerkennung“), enter either your matriculation number or the e-mail address of your university account, depending on the university.
- Has your semester fee been paid and booked? The prerequisite for ordering is that the semester fee has been paid in full and the payment has been processed in the university's system. It can take up to two weeks for the payment to be processed. Only then is the order possible. If it is still not possible to place an order after the transfer, please try again in a few days.
Tip: At some universities, you can check online via the university's campus management system whether your payment has been processed. You can order your semester ticket no later than one day after the payment has been processed. You did not have the Semesterticket before?
Before using the mobile ticket for the first time, you must activate it once on your smartphone. This is how it works:
- Open the NAH.SH app, which is available free of charge for Android (from version 6.0) and iOS (from version 12.0).
- In the app menu, select „D-Ticket NAH.SH | Job | SeTi“ and then „Add ticket“ (german: „Ticket hinzufügen“).
- Enter your date of birth and your personal ticket number, which you received with the order confirmation.
- That's it. We wish you a good journey! Important: The Semesterticket is valid from the first day of the semester stated on it.
Have you already used the Semesterticket?
Check the ticket number mentioned in the e-mail with the order confirmation:
- If your ticket number is unchanged from the previous semester, your existing mobile ticket will be automatically updated to the new semester on the first day of the semester (you do not need to enter your ticket number and date of birth in the NAH.SH app). You can see this from about 10 days before the start of the semester: On the third page of the mobile ticket, you will see a message that the ticket for the following month has been loaded, but you will only be able to see it from the first day of the semester.
- If the order confirmation contains a different ticket number, please activate the mobile ticket for the following semester in the NAH.SH app via the menu item „D-Ticket NAH.SH | Job | SeTi“ and then „Add ticket“ (german: „Ticket hinzufügen“). Enter your date of birth and your personal ticket number. That's it.

If you receive this error message when you try to activate the Semesterticket in the NAH.SH app after successfully ordering with the ticket number, it is likely that the date of birth entered in the app does not match the date of birth that you specified when ordering. How to solve the problem:
- To avoid typos, first check whether you entered the ticket number and your date of birth correctly when activating the NAH.SH app.
- If the error message continues to appear, the date of birth was probably entered incorrectly when ordering. To correct the date of birth entered when placing the order, proceed as follows:
- Open the order page.
- After logging in, you will see your ticket number and a link to change your date of birth.
- After the change has been made successfully, you can activate the semester ticket in the NAH.SH app.

If an incorrect date of birth is entered, the mobile ticket cannot be loaded. In addition, the Semesterticket is then invalid, as the date of birth is also shown on the ticket.
To correct the date of birth, please proceed as follows:
- Open the order page and log in.
- After logging in, you will see your ticket number and a link to change your date of birth.

This error can occur in individual cases. You can fix the problem yourself by following these steps:
- An active internet connection is required.
- Open your mobile ticket.
- Note the 9-digit ticket number, which you will find on the third page of the mobile phone ticket, below under „Ticket No.“.
- Now remove your Semesterticket from the NAH.SH app by selecting the three points in the header of the opened ticket and selecting „Remove“ (german: „Entfernen“).
- Close the NAH.SH app.
- Please open the NAH.SH app again and add your Semesterticket again. To do this, use the menu item „D-Ticket NAH.SH | Job | SeTi“ and then „Add semesterticket“ (german: „Ticket hinzufügen“) – enter the ticket number, you have noted, and your date of birth here.
- If necessary, you can now deactivate yout internet connection.

No, the order confirmation is not a valid ticket. Enrolment certificates, substitute certificates or student IDs –even if they have been validated– are also not valid as travel authorisation for the Semesterticket.

Please keep the order confirmation until the end of the semester. If you change your smartphone, you will need the ticket number mentioned in it to activate the Semesterticket on the new device.

Please note that the e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address specified during ordering. This is the e-mail account of your university. Please also check your spam folder there.
It is also possible that your e-mail inbox is full. Please free up space. Afterwards execute the order again - you will receive a message with your ticket number. Write them down to load your mobile ticket.

You will find the ticket number in the e-mail with the order confirmation sent to your university email address when you placed your order. Alternatively, you can start the ordering process again: The ticket number is displayed after registration.

The Semesterticket is a personal ticket that is valid only for you. That is why it also contains a personal photograph in addition to your name. It is important that it is a recent photo and your face is easily recognizable – like on an ID card. But you do not need to have a passport photo taken by a photographer.

During a semester, it is not possible to exchange the photograph. When ordering for the following semester, you can of course upload a new photo of yourself. Alternatively, you can continue to use your previous photo.
If the photo on your ticket is not recognizable , e.g. too small, distorted or accidentally the entire student card has been uploaded, please contact the NAH.SH customer service (NAH.SH-Kundendialog) for clarification:

If your name changes during the semester, e.g. due to marriage, or your appearance changes, you can continue to use your Semesterticket until the end of the current semester. It is not necessary to change the name or photo on the issued ticket. However, when using it, please keep your personal photo ID handy in case of any queries.

Please download the latest version of the NAH.SH app for Android and iOS to your smartphone. The NAH.SH app requires
- Android version 8.0 or higher or
- iOS version 14.5 or higher.
If the NAH.SH app cannot be installed, please first check whether you can update your smartphone's operating system and download the latest version of Android or iOS. Then try installing the NAH.SH app again.
If you are using a Huawei smartphone, you have the option of loading the mobile phone ticket into the DB Navigator app from the Huawei AppGallery. After ordering, load the ticket into DB Navigator („Travel“ menu item and then select the plus symbol). No guarantee can be given that this method will work permanently. Support for Huawei smartphones cannot be guaranteed for technical reasons.
